Me personally, I think we are nearing the end of books being published physically and leaning more towards books being published online. With the way that technology is advancing I don't see a problem with publishings become more online then printed out.
These Kindles are a prime example of how physical books are slowly becoming less and less common.

I totally agree with the idea that books are going to one day only be published through electronic medias. But I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. Just like the video said we need to think about the environment and sustainability, and having books published electronically instead of printed onto paper is much more environmentally friendly.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I have been wondering about is how the change to digital is changing thing more than just the removal of paper (and all of the industrial-soical-economic-environmental implications of that)... but more digital publishing might have more access? Might be more open sourced? What do you think?
ReplyDeleteIn some ways, I think technology is great. It's so fascinating to see the stuff they come out with. On the topic of books, I get too distracted reading online. I can do it, but I have to read the material a few times before it actually sinks in.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the thought that we will reach an end to the publication of any documents on paper. The thought is a little scary considering all of the viruses and hackers we have today. I hope that they at least find a way to stop all of that before the world gets fully adjusted to publication online.
